Lunch at Food and Tea, Tropicana City Mall, Petaling Jaya

Tropicana City Mall, a rather new mall in the heart of Petaling Jaya, located right next to the underpass heading to 1 Utama via LDP and just opposite Damansara Uptown. It's a not a very large mall, but it is dedicated to nearby residents to do their shopping conveniently. I was there for ACGC2009 (this was in march 09), and I went on a food hunt with my friend for lunch.

We arrived at Food and Tea, located at the corner of the building. They are very similar to the typical Hong Kong coffee shops styled cafes, such as Kim Gary and Wong Kok. Even the way we order our food was similar. Jot down the numbers on a piece of paper given and then flag a waiter(ess) to pick it up.

Desserts -

Food here is nothing to shout about. Mostly are just average. My friend complained the lack of sambal taste in his fried rice. The prawns in the seafood roll weren't too fresh either. As for me the biggest turn off would be my grape soda. It had those flying ants in it (WTF). I suspect they didn't cover their syrup properly and all the ants went inside =_= .

I wouldn't exactly recommend this place eventhough the food is "okay okay", but if you must satisfy your curious taste buds, then so be it.

Dinner at Natural, Damansara Uptown

(*this post has cut all my backlog food queues xD)

Located in the busy streets of Damansara Uptown (same row as Starbucks Coffee which is located at the corner, not the middle one), Natural is a organic vegetarian restaurant. One of my friends tried this place before and he highly recommended that we try as well; and so off I went for dinner with a few other friends for this tasting session.

Parking is a hassle around this area, as I had to go around and round for like 20 minutes before I could locate a proper parking spot( normally people would just park at the roadside and all). Anyway, my friend had reserved 2 tables and had already booked the dishes in advanced. He ordered 5 dishes which are;

- Kangkung Belacan
- Butter Ribs
- Nestum Prawn
- Roasted Chicken
- Asam Fish

Before I show you ze peektures, Natural also has a wide range of health drinks for the health conscious people. From aloe vera to herbal drinks to fruit drinks, they have it.

Kangkung Belacan

I would have to say, this place is one of the better places for a good vegeterian food. Most of the dishes were flavorful, and quite realistic against their meat counterparts. Most places I had vegetarian food were rather bland, but this was not the case. Only the Kangkung belacan was a little pale, as the belacan had next to no taste (this is excepted as belacan is shrimp paste).

Overall, this place is a must try if you are into some healthy food. The only issue is the parking which you'll have to go through before enjoying your meal.
